PHARMACOGNOSY LABORATORY
The Pharmacognosy Laboratory provides esteemed knowledge and utilization of medicinal substances of biological origin (plant, microorganism and animal products) used for treatment of various diseases. This laboratory provide the practical training on morphological, microscopic, physical and chemical evaluation of crude drugs as well as herbal formulations. The various instruments like, Binocular microscope, Projecting microscope, Moisture balance are used for crude drugs evaluation and Soxhlet apparatus, Clevenger’s apparatus, Chromatographic column for isolation of various active constituents. We assist regional people forthe identification of medicinal plants by providing important morphological features of original medicinal plants located in herbarium museum.
